After extensive development in the run-up to the 2011 season
the all-new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R took little time to grow into its role
as an SBK race bike and delivered a win at the Nürburgring. Not all
manufacturers get to walk away with a race win in the first year of a
new model’s life but it proved that Kawasaki’s innovative rear
suspension design and other track orientated elements on the Ninja
worked at the highest level of production-derived racing.
Now a
finely honed machine, the capabilities of the ZX-10R were truly realised
in 2012, with both Tom Sykes and Loris ending the championship as race
winners. For 2013, after another winter season of development and
refinement, few doubt that in the era of 17-inch tyres more success
awaits Kawasaki thanks to the impressive ZX-10R.
